Hosted by Mark “Hegsy” Hegarty, an award-winning humanitarian and musician from Cardiff, this uplifting, 3-hour show is all about the music: YOUR music!

A regular communal safe place for fans of 80s music to reminisce with familiar tracks and also discover “new” music across all genres from the greatest decade in music.

Andrew Farriss

Best known as the keyboardist, guitarist, and primary songwriter for the iconic Australian rock band INXS, Andrew Farriss talked with Hegsy (an avid INXS fan!).

In the episode, Andrew talks about his experiences co-writing with Michael Hutchence, and his musical journey from INXS to his new solo album.

Liam Ó Maonlaí

Lead vocalist and founding member of Hothouse Flowers, Liam Ó Maonlaí, sat down with Hegsy for a chat.

Jay Pepper

Jay Pepper is best known as one of the founding members of the Welsh glam metal band Tigertailz. Known for their flamboyant style and energetic performances, Tigertailz put Wales on the glam metal map.

Mike Farris

American singer-songwriter Mike Farris is best known for his blend of soul, gospel, rock, and blues. He gained recognition as the lead singer of the rock band The Screamin’ Cheetah Wheelies in the 1990s before transitioning to a successful solo career.

He took a pit stop from his UK tour to visit Radio Cardiff after performing at St Andrew’s URC, Cardiff, talking his musical inspirations, his Grammy win, and life in Nashville.

Kathy Valentine

The Go-Go’s legend Kathy Valentine talked to Hegsy shortly before her band’s performance in Cardiff.

Talking all things Go-Go’s, Kathy discusses writing some of the bands biggest hits, her solo career, her best-selling memoirs book, and adventures with her new band, The Blue Bonnets from Austin, TX.

Maria Vasquez

Peruvian Self-Portraiture Artist Maria Isabel Vasquez joined Hegsy in the studio for a discussion about photography and her exhibition in the Cardiff Blackwater Art Gallery.

She also picked and discussed her favourite 80s hits.

Chris Duffy

In the epicentre of Wales’ 80s music scene, Chris Duffy was half of the pop duo Waterfront. They broke the charts in America, peaking at number 5, and went on to tour the US with Donny Osmond.

Chris shared his memories of performing shows with Robert Palmer, Neneh Cherry, Dean Martin and Tina Turner, to name a few. He also shares his story of buying Rick Astley a telephone as a thank you for providing backing vocals for solo single.
