GRAMMY Nomination for ‘Suite For Africa’

In an incredible achievement, the Matsiko World Orphan Choir and acclaimed jazz artist Amina Figarova have been nominated for a GRAMMY for their collaboration album ‘Suite For Africa’.

The album features the choir on three powerful tracks: “Spirit Liberia, Spirit Africa”, “15 as 1”, and “Forgotten Children” – each carrying a message of hope, unity, and resilience.

The lyrics, written by Mark Lee Hegarty, founder of Reel Stories of Hope, were crafted to give the children a voice while shining a global spotlight on their mission and the beauty of Liberia. The song “15 as 1” is a moving tribute to the country’s unity, celebrating its 15 counties and 16 tribes.

Upon receiving the nomination, Hegarty expressed his joy and pride, stating, “These songs tell the story of the children’s journey, their struggles, and their incredible spirit. To see their voices recognized on such a global stage is beyond inspiring.”

This GRAMMY nomination is a testament to the extraordinary talent of these young voices and the power of music to create awareness and change. It marks a historic moment for Liberia and for the choir, whose voices now reach audiences worldwide.
