New Single Celebrates Africa’s ’55 Nations’

Last year, the Matsiko World Orphan Choir from Liberia, West Africa, toured the USA and performed in 40 states over 11 months, raising awareness for their mission to try and provide free educational sponsors for their friends, families and communities living in poverty.

They performed at various venues, including schools, churches, workplaces, and retirement homes, alongside conventional music venues and cultural exchange events.

Some audiences asked where Liberia was, and the choir was amazed that so many people thought Africa was a country. Some mistook Liberia for Libya.

This inspired Reel Stories Founder, Mark Lee Hegarty, to write the song ‘Africa – 55 Nations’, giving the children a platform to educate through music as the song shares the name of each of Africa’s countries.

The children had a blast making the video, which also shows the locations of each country and has been enjoyed in over 100 countries.
